Democrats launched a new thorough investigation on President Trump and his associates. On Monday, March 4th the House Judiciary Committee requested documents from 81 people and entities connected to Trump’s administration and his business.
The House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler is leading the investigation. In an ABC news interview, he said that the investigation has been launched to “present the case to the American people about obstruction of justice, about corruption, and abuse of power.”
Those involved in the investigation hope that what they find will lead to the president’s impeachment. Nadler said the application for President Trump’s impeachment “is a long way down the road.”
The 81 names on the list include different names involved with the White House, President Trump’s business, his campaign, and people who were present at the Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer before election.
The congressional probes taking place around President Trump are seeking out his possible participation with Russian intervention in the campaign and his seeking out foreign countries’ financial interests.
"Presidential Harassment by 'crazed' Democrats at the highest level in the history of our Country. Likewise, the most vicious and corrupt Mainstream Media that any president has ever had to endure," President Trump tweeted Sunday night addressing his investigation.
